  • Upgrade our server technology using virtual servers and shared storage, to save in replacement, utility and maintenance costs.
  • Continue working with the Technology and Telecommunications Committee, developing programs for better public service through technological means.
  • Continue to develop wireless capability. We launched a prototype at the Petaluma Community Center late Summer, 2006. As of April, 2007, There is also a pilot community wifi in the downtown, in conjunction with Sonic.Net. That pilot was expanded by Council approval in November, 2007.

  • Continued expansion of the City's Granicus web-streaming system for providing access to City meetings.
  • Better integration with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) .
  • Develop and deploy solutions for better worker mobility, utilizing wireless technologies. We are deploying mobile technology and a workorder system for street-workers in this fiscal year.
