Are You In The Floodplain?
The Community Development Department can assist you in determining if your property is located within the 100 year floodplain. Start by locating your property on the City of Petaluma's Zoning Map located online through the online GIS portal. By selecting the appropriate options and providing the relevant information, you can then compare your property boundary to a flood hazard area. This will give you a general idea of the proximity of your property to the 100 year floodplain. Given that these maps are not exact, if your property borders the 100 year floodplain you should give us a call (707.778.4557) to speak with a Permit Technician. The Technician can assist you in determining if your property is within the floodplain. Be sure to contact us if you are considering purchasing or making any improvements to a property within the floodplain.
