Project Type - Commercial
The project includes adaptive re-use project of the former Silk Mill building located at 450 Jefferson for hotel and restaurant use. The applicant proposes to construct 95 hotel rooms and associated restaurant. The restaurant and 70 of the hotels room are proposed in the existing structures. The 25 additional hotel rooms would be considered as the second phase of the project and would be constructed in a new detached structure adjacent to the existing buildings. The former Silk Mill building is on the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historic Resources.
The applicant has also applied for a General Plan Amendment to change the land use designation from High Density Residential (18.1-30.0 hu/ac) to Mixed – Use and rezoning of the subject property from R5 to MU2, a Mixed-Use zoning district to be consistent with the mixed-use land use designation.
