LIEUTENANT Ed Crosby

Lieutenant Ed Crosby began his career in February 1994 with the Los Angeles County Metro Transit Police Department after graduating from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Regional Training Center In December 1993. In September 1995, he joined the Petaluma Police Department and has served in a variety of assignments including as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Field Training Officer, and Peer Counselor.

 

As a Detective, Lt. Crosby helped establish and create the Department’s first Domestic Violence and Stalking Unit that still exists today. While in that assignment, then-Detective Crosby gave numerous public presentations on the dynamics of intimate partner violence, including as a guest speaker in Human Interaction classes at Petaluma high schools.

 

He was promoted to Sergeant in January 2008. As a Sergeant he supervised Patrol, Police K-9, Communications, and Investigations. He also continues to manage the Peer Support Program helping first responders, dispatchers, and support staff to manage the stress and trauma of public safety work.

 

Lieutenant Crosby is a graduate of California State San Bernardino with a BA degree in Business Administration. His community involvement includes participating in fundraising efforts for the Special Olympics such as “Tip A Cop” and participating in public presentations on crime prevention topics, such as fraud and scams targeting the elderly.
