Water Conservation Programs Help You Save

Water ConservationThe City of Petaluma offers a variety of water conservation programs to help you save water. The City offers Residential and Business Incentives, including high-efficiency clothes washer rebates, High-Efficiency Toilet (HET) rebates, free water conservation devices, and free Water-Wise House Calls, which is a new program to help individual residents use water more efficiently. Previously undetected water leaks have been discovered in 20% of the homes participating in this program. The City also offers a discount on sewer demand charges for restaurants and laundromats that use Best Available Technology at their new sites. We are currently pilot testing “smart,” or ET, irrigation controllers at City parks and residences. In addition, the City’s Web site offers many conservation resources, including videos on Leak Detection, Reading Your Water Meter, and a Virtual Home Tour.

For more information on how you can help conserve water, please visit http://www.CityofPetaluma.net/wrcd/index.html, call 778-4507 or call the Water-Wise House Calls hotline at 1-800-548-1882.
