Water Resources and Conservation
Free Water Conservation Devices
The City of Petaluma makes it easy for you to save water. The below items are available FREE to all Petaluma water customers. Simply visit one of our city facilities and start saving water today!
Showerheads
This free 2 gallon per
minute, low-flow massage showerhead is water efficient and has a fully
adjustable spray with on/off toggle switch. These showerheads really
work! Gone are the days of the low water use showerheads that merely
provided a heavy mist.
Faucet Aerators
The kitchen aerator has
a swivel action aerated jet and wide spray pattern for effective
cleaning. The lavatory aerators significantly reduce the flow without
affecting performance.
Garden Hose Nozzle
Six-pattern
hose nozzle has a sturdy metal body. Did you know that it is a
violation of the City’s water conservation ordinance to have a
hose running without a hose-end shut-off nozzle?
Dye Tablets
Save water and money by
checking your toilets for silent leaks. Drop these blue dye tablets
into your toilet tank. If color seeps into the toilet bowl, you have a
silent leak and need to replace your toilet flapper.
Irrigation System Catch-Cans
These devices help you
determine how efficiently you are irrigating your turf. Simply place
the catch-cans in your turf, turn on your irrigation system and note
the reading in the device. You will then be able to figure out how
evenly water is being distributed to your turf.
Free Pamphlets
The City has a number
of free water conserving pamphlets, brochures and other literature. We
also have fun stuff for kids!
